[Introduction into the set of images:

Different forms of art have always been used to express different kinds of emotions and feelings, either to release it from the artist’s mind, to document or produced to affect the viewer in a certain way. However, as long as people express themselves, other folk will take offense. In some cases this can lead to the censorship of work.

This work has been created from looking at music, censorship and the relationship between the two. Taking reasons why certain works may become censored and relating them to song lyrics to produce a visual medium that could be used to promote the artist’s work, via the likes of an album cover. However, these images have been produced to create a somewhat shock and uneasy feeling to them. This has been done to see if the viewer reacts only to the visual or whether the impact will make the viewer study the image in greater detail to try and understand the reasons behind the work. Everyone draws different interpretations and beliefs behind what they see. Yet, can one push for work to be censored simply because they do not like the aesthetic of the work or just because they disagree with what they interpret the reasons behind the work to be?]

Description of the individual piece:

This image derived from two points; the blocking of the idea, stopping the creation of ideas before they become a physical piece of work, and the damage the work could do if exposed the wrong person, especially young children.
